Main Street Advisory Board

The Main Street Advisory Board is tasked with working with the Downtown District Manager to develop and adopt a strategic annual action plan that will prioritize projects for Downtown Brownsville. The Board's primary role is to lead the implementation of the annual action plan and advocate for Downtown Brownsville.

Main Street Brownsville is a volunteer-based program that requires an active Board who can commit a minimum of six (6) to ten (10) hours a month, in addition to attending monthly Board meetings.  

A total of nine Board members serve two-year terms and are appointed by the City Commission.  The inaugural Board was appointed in 2016.

Downtown in Action

 On February 15, 2017, the Main Street Advisory Board adopted its first Annual Action Plan—Downtown in Action (DIA), a comprehensive work plan that provides a detailed blueprint for activities, reinforcing the program’s accountability and providing measurable objectives by which the program and its stakeholders can track progress.  Click on the link below to view DIA in its entirety.
