NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE FUNDS (CDBG-CV) AND

EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANT CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE FUNDS (ESG-CV)

 

In response to the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19), the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has notified the City of Brownsville that it will receive an allocation of Community Development Block Grant Program - Coronavirus Response funds (CDBG-CV) - $1,597,695 and Emergency Solution Grant - Coronavirus Response funds (ESG-CV) - $ 819,241 to be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19. This allocation was authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136 to respond to the growing effects of this public health crisis. City of Brownsville is soliciting requests for funding from qualified and capable organizations implementing programs in Brownsville, benefitting low- and moderate-income residents consistent with the objectives of the CARES Act. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully meet these objectives in compliance with all applicable federal and other requirements pursuant to the use of CDBG-CV and/or ESG-CV funds.

Interested organizations wishing to submit an application may do so by downloading one below. The application will be available starting Monday, June 8, 2020. Deadline to submit a complete application is Monday, June 22, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time. Applications must be sent via email at armando.rangel@cob.us or maryann.perez@cob.us. Failure to meet the submission deadline (no later than 5:00pm Central Time on June 22, 2020) will preclude a proposal from consideration by the City of Brownsville.
