City of Brownsville Offices Closed in Observance of Independence Day

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (June 28, 2017) – City of Brownsville administrative offices will be closed on Monday, July 3, 2017, and Tuesday, July 4, 2017, in observance of Independence Day. Emergency police, fire and rescue services may be reached by calling 9-1-1.


546-HELP: Brownsville’s non-emergency hotline, 546-HELP (4357), will be closed July 3-4, 2017. Normal hours of operation will resume on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.

Brownsville Animal Regulation & Care Center: The Brownsville Animal Regulation & Care Center (BARCC) will be closed to the public July 3-4, 2017. Normal hours of operation will resume on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.

Brownsville Metro & Metro Connect: Brownsville Metro bus services will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Normal hours of operation will be provided on Monday, July 3, 2017, and Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Metro Connect intercity bus service will operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Normal hours of operation will be provided on Monday, July 3, 2017, and Wednesday, July 5, 2017.

Brownsville Public Library System: Main and Southmost Branch libraries will be closed July 3-4, 2017. Normal hours of operation will resume on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.

Public Works Department: Public Works Department offices will be closed July 3-4, 2017. Normal hours of operation will resume on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. The City of Brownsville Municipal Solid Waste Landfill will operate a normal schedule from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., and residential and commercial trash collection services will operate a normal schedule throughout Independence Day.
