City of Brownsville Administrative Offices Closed on Memorial Day

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (May 26, 2017) – City of Brownsville administrative offices will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2017, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Emergency police, fire and rescue services may be reached by calling 9-1-1.


546-HELP: Brownsville’s non-emergency hotline, 546-HELP (4357), will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2017. Normal hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

Brownsville Animal Regulation & Care Center: The Brownsville Animal Regulation & Care Center (BARCC) will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2017. Normal hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

Brownsville Metro & Metro Connect: On Monday, May 29, 2017, Brownsville Metro bus services will operate a normal schedule and Metro Connect will operate on a holiday schedule from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Brownsville Public Library System: Main and Southmost Branch libraries will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2017. Normal hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

Public Works Department: On Monday, May 29, 2017, Public Works Department offices will be closed, with normal hours of operation resuming on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

The City of Brownsville Municipal Solid Waste Landfill will operate a normal schedule from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., and residential and commercial trash collection services will operate a normal schedule throughout Memorial Day.
